We’re looking for a Food Technology Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young people through a curriculum that celebrates creativity, nutrition, sustainability and healthy living. You will empower pupils to develop practical skills, confidence and a deep understanding of food, culture and wellbeing, all within a respectful and values-driven learning environment.
As a teacher in our school, you will be responsible for securing excellent outcomes for all learners, ensuring equality of opportunity and maintaining the highest standards of teaching and professional conduct. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of pupils of all abilities, using effective assessment and differentiation strategies to support progress and achievement. Through thoughtful curriculum design, you will encourage curiosity, independence and a responsible attitude towards food preparation, safety and healthy lifestyles.
In keeping with the ethos of the Avanti Schools Trust, you will build positive relationships rooted in dignity and mutual respect, working collaboratively with colleagues, families and the wider community to support every child’s success. What will you do?
- Deliver the curriculum, prepare teaching materials, and ensure high standards of literacy and student progress.
- Establish a safe and stimulating environment, manage classroom behavior, and promote student well-being.
- Use assessment data to monitor student progress, set targets, and plan lessons.
- Collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional development, and communicate effectively with parents and external bodies.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of students, ensuring compliance with school policies and protocols.

- QTS Qualified
- Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant or allied subject
- Able to work independently, collaboratively and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents and carers
- Ability to create and maintain professional working relationships
