Salary: Grade 4, £26,646 - £28,213 per annum, pro rata .(Approximately £18,468 - £19,554 per annum (0.69309 FTE)

We are seeking to appoint a Design and Technology Technician to support teaching and learning within our secondary school at Avanti Fields School.
The role involves preparing materials and equipment, maintaining resources, and supporting staff and students during practical lessons.
You will contribute to maintaining a safe, well-organised and purposeful learning environment, upholding high standards of health and safety, risk assessment and resource management.
The role requires the ability to support KS3 Design Technology and KS4 Product Design and Food Nutrition and Preparation.

Avanti Fields School is an all-through, faith-designated (Hindu) state school which welcomed the first intake of Year 7 students in September 2018, and first intake of Nursery and Reception students in September 2022. What will you do?
- Provide practical and technical support for Design Technology and Food Technology lessons, including preparing materials, equipment and learning environments.
- Maintain tools, machinery, ICT equipment and resources, ensuring safe storage, cleanliness, stock control and effective operation.
- Support teaching staff and students through demonstrations, advice, interventions and assistance during practical work and assessments.
- Uphold high standards of health, safety and risk management by maintaining risk assessments and adhering to school policies.
- Assist the Head of Department with displays, examinations, enrichment activities and additional support during peak periods, including occasional work outside school hours.

What are we looking for?
- Working knowledge of Design Technology machines and processes
- Experience and excellent track record in the field of health and safety in a support role
- The ability to make decisions in consultation with the Class Teacher and colleagues as appropriate
- The ability to use ICT
